Allegro has selected an automated parcel lockers supplier. First devices will be available to customers already this year.
- Allegro has signed a letter of intent with a Polish company Modern - Expo, for the delivery of an automated parcel locker system for collecting and sending parcels.
- By the end of 2021, the platform plans to install the first batch of 1,500 devices in the cities throughout Poland.
- Allegro's own network of parcel lockers will speed up the delivery process and make shopping on Allegro even more convenient.
Allegro customers have access to numerous delivery methods. Depending on their needs, they can have the purchased products delivered by courier to their doorstep or pick them up on their own from over 30,000 lockers and collection points available at Allegro.
Convenience of shopping and deliveries are Allegro's priorities, which is why the platform goes a step further and starts building its own network of parcel lockers. The letter of intent signed with Modern-Expo Group marks the start of manufacturing of the initial 1,500 automated parcel locker devices, which shoppers and merchants will start using later this year.
We make sure that Allegro customers are satisfied at every stage of their shopping experience. The delivery time is priority for Allegro and already ca. 80% of deliveries reach the customer within 1-2 days from order. Our ambition is to make deliveries even faster, cheaper and more convenient. That is why we decided to invest in our own parcel lockers system, as an addition to the network of about 30,000 lockers and collection points already available on Allegro. This new network will give customers even better access to affordable delivery forms and, together with Allegro's warehouse services, which we also plan to launch this year, it will create a new quality in delivery convenience. In the first phase we plan to deploy 3,000 high-tech parcel lockers, of which 1,500 shall be installed still this year.” - said Grzegorz Czapski, Business Development Director at Allegro. “Allegro is proud to support local businesses at every part of the value chain, that's why we are very happy to have selected Polish company Modern-Expo as our supplier of parcel lockers.” - added Czapski.
The first Allegro parcel lockers will be installed in the Polish cities in mid-2021. Allegro wants to build a sustainable network by cooperating responsibly with local communities and authorities, which is why a special website has been launched where where interested in making available the plot for placing devices may propose locations for parcel lockers. Those interested can do it from March 4 at https://na.allegro.pl/nasze-punkty.
The Allegro parcel lockers will be supplied by the Polish company Modern-Expo Group, a leader in the manufacturing of technologically advanced equipment for retail and e-commerce.
“Our customers expect innovative and reliable products. We have been supplying equipment to the largest retail chains around the world for 25 years. Cooperation with a partner as demanding as Allegro presents a great new opportunity. It also proves that the products we offer stand out with high quality, and convenient and intuitive operation,” said Bogdan Łukasik, President of the Management Board and co-owner of Modern-Expo Group.
The parcel lockers network is yet another investment in logistics services, announced by Allegro in 2021. In the second half of the year, a logistics fulfillment centre to support Allegro merchants with even faster deliveries at economic terms, will be opened in Adamów near Warsaw.
